A CONTEMPORARY HAVEN

Leather | SUÈDE and NUBUCK

A quiet, intimate, and distinctly luxurious home.

In this beautifully designed home, the choice of materials plays a decisive role in the atmosphere and experience.

Alongside stone, timber, and bronze, nubuck and suede were introduced as tactile counterpoints, softening the architecture while elevating its sense of refinement.

Throughout the home, leather was applied with architectural precision rather than decoration. The television walls are fully clad in nubuck leather, transforming functional surfaces into elegant, matte backdrops that absorb light and enhance the sense of calm within the living spaces.

The velvety depth of nubuck introduces warmth while maintaining the restrained palette that defines the interior.

In selected areas, suede inlays were carefully integrated into millwork and wall compositions. These moments of softness create subtle visual rhythm, enriching the surfaces with depth and tactility while preserving the purity of line that guides the overall design language.

The suede envelops the space with acoustic softness and visual warmth, transforming transition into ritual.

A defining gesture within the project is the fully upholstered elevator interior, wrapped entirely in refined suede. More than a functional element, the elevator becomes an immersive experience. Quiet, intimate, and distinctly luxurious.

The leather selections were chosen not only for their aesthetic qualities but for their ability to age gracefully over time.

Natural texture, tonal depth, and artisanal finishing ensure that each surface develops character, reinforcing the home’s philosophy of understated luxury and enduring craftsmanship.-

Through the integration of nubuck and suede, leather becomes an architectural material! One that enhances comfort, refines proportion, and introduces a sense of quiet sophistication throughout the residence.

THE LEATHER USED IN THIS PROJECT

NUBUCK | LIGHTLY SANDED ON THE TOP SIDE OF THE SKIN – This creates a velvety appearance and a soft feel. It is supple and has a matte, understated look. The texture of the skin is still visible but does not dominate. The color is uniform with few color nuances.

SUEDE | ONE OF ALPHENBERG’S SHOWPIECES – Unlike smooth leather, suede is not made from the top side of the skin, but from the underside, which is much softer. The leather is brushed, giving it an open and velvety texture that is very tactile and has a subtle sheen.
